Stressed? Don’t Let the Psychic Vampires Drain You Out!

They are all over the place – in your school, workplace, neighborhood or even your own home. Most of the time, you would encounter and/or have to stay and deal with a person who tends to or can easily make you feel irritated, annoyed, impatient, exhausted and many other negative vibes. Such type of person is usually described as a psychic vampire, one who can directly or indirectly drain your life force out, whether you are aware or unaware of it.

Why Bother?

Have you ever felt so much uncomfortable being with a certain person and you can’t even stand seeing his face? For unknown reasons, you just find yourself consuming much of your energy that you can no longer continue with your task the way you do when that particular person is not yet around. The more this scenario happens, the worse you and your reactions become. This is a simple reason why you should understand what psychic vampires really are and what to do to overcome their energy-draining negative vibes.

What People Believe about Psychic Vampires

Decades before, it was believed that psychic vampires have something to do with occultism. They are thought as emotionally or mentally weak people with supernatural capabilities and that’s why they can manipulate someone’s feelings and mood, leaving the latter stressed and exhausted, comparable to how vampires who feed off a person’s blood for survival.

Eventually, literature has been using the term ‘psychic vampire’ to refer to a person with the personality or even appearance that is significantly in conflict with another’s, rather than a mythical creature. Since no medical evidences and explanations yet found about the existence of psychic vampires, the term has been acceptable in popular culture but describing a person as a psychic vampire or not is generally subjective.

Different Types of Psychic Vampire

Energy Vampire is the most popular type of psychic vampire and so these two terms have been used synonymously. Other people use the terms like ‘energy predator’, ‘psionic vampire’, ‘emphatic vampire’, ‘energy parasite’ and ‘pranic vampire’ to describe such type of person as well. Moreover, another type of psychic vampire is the emotional vampire which is a description to people with different personality disorders that make them seemingly drain out the emotional well-being of others.

They are usually identified as people who take advantage of others’ empathy to seek attention and draw emotional strength once they see their “victim” loses theirs. Same goes with sexual vampires, the type of psychic vampire whose effect is on the sex drive of a person.

What to Do to Prevent being a Victim of a Psychic Vampire

Whether you like it or not, there is a high chance that a psychic vampire is just around the place and you have to deal with his/her presence.

Here are some simple things you can do to prevent the life force-draining effects of your psychic vampire:

Keep Distance and Focus Your Attention to Something Else – Although this is almost impossible to do, this is the best way to avoid getting negative vibes from a psychic vampire. It’s actually a matter of thinking; the more you think about your psychic vampire, the more you would lose your life force. Keep focused on what you’re doing while holding on to things that inspire you most.

Ask Others to Help You Confront Him – It happens sometimes that you’re the only one who gets affected by the presence of the person you consider a psychic vampire. If you know someone who does not feel uncomfortable dealing with your psychic vampire, ask that person to help you suggest to him about what should be changed about his personality. While no changes happening yet, you can rely on others to serve as the “medium” between you and your psychic vampire whenever you left with no choice but to communicate with him.

Don’t Get too Affected with Emotions – When your psychic vampire displays a negative mood towards you, try not to react with negative emotions because it will certainly drain out your life force. Same goes when there is an emotional vampire; don’t be too empathetic upon hearing or seeing his emotional and mental concerns. You can talk to that person but make sure you limit the personal information you share as this can trigger an effect that makes you feel the depression or negative vibes with him.

These are just some ways to protect you from the presence of psychic vampires. Overall, you can keep their negative vibes from draining you out by surrounding yourself with happy people, finding time to smile and laugh as often as possible, and keep yourself passionate with your goals.

Reasons Why You Should Sleep More

An extra hour of sleep each day can make a difference in your life. There are some studies which show that getting enough sleep and getting too little sleep may affect several aspects of your life such as your mood, health, weight and probably even your sex life.

If you are always getting too little sleep each day, here are some surprising reasons on why you should:

Better Health

To make things clear, getting enough sleep won’t guarantee that you have immunity against diseases. But studies show that a lack of sleep is linked to several serious health problems such as heart attacks, heart diseases, obesity and diabetes. But the health risks associated with lack of sleep will only become serious after a few years’ time. Just don’t rely on that fact and start getting more sleep at any early stage.

Better Sex Life

In a recent poll, it shows that 26% of couples are suffering from poor sex life because they are always too tired to do it. The evidence on that can be found on men wherein impairment in their sleeping patterns resulted in lower testosterone levels. This will eventually cause some risks towards the relationship between couples, especially if it has been occurring quite too often.

Less Pain

If you are experiencing chronic or acute pain, getting some sleep can lessen its intensity. There are studies which show that there is a link between sleep loss and lower pain threshold. But that’s not always the case because too much pain can sometimes hinder you from sleeping.

Better Mood

If you get enough sleep, it doesn’t always mean that you will have a sunny disposition. But you must have noticed that whenever you’re tired or exhausted, you can easily get cranky. Apart from that, a lack of sleep can affect your emotional regulation. And when you’re overtired, you can easily snap even on someone whom you shouldn’t normally be pissed at.

Better Weight Control

If you get enough sleep, you can maintain your weight and if you are deprived from it, you have an increased risk of gaining weight. The reason behind this is that being too tired can cause you to have less energy to go for a jog, an exercise or prepare a healthy meal.

With all these surprising reasons, you must now know the importance of getting an adequate amount of sleep each day.

How to Construct a Good Novel

Writing a novel is easier said than done. Oftentimes, aspiring authors lose their sense of dedication after knowing that their story has been quite a mess because of losing some important details or concocting confusing storylines. Just what does it take to make a good story turn great?

Here are some of the few important tips that you should know when it comes to turning a novel great:

Describe, Describe and Describe

It’s often that most writers often leave out details of a scene or story which leaves the reader confused and dumbfounded. That’s because many authors get caught up in the moment of finishing a scene and then proceeding to the next, forgetting the crucial details of a scene that can be described as “short” in real life but can last several pages in a book. Don’t hesitate and describe what the setting is, what a particular character felt, or what movement did one character do in that specific scene.

Don’t Limit to the Senses

You’re writing a novel. This gives you the authority to go outside of the five senses and described whatever it is that you truly feel that’s beside what you see, hear, smell or taste. Words are the weapons that writers use, so don’t limit yourself and extend your boundaries in describing moments as the story of the novel goes on. Feel free to cross descriptions as well, like describing a smell or a taste using different ways. For example, “The sweet floral fragrance of the garden reminded him of his quaint and homely village from years ago…”

Develop Characters

No one likes a stale and boring character that doesn’t have an outstanding or unique feature. If you’re going to write a long novel, it’s important that you show the development of a character, less of the physical aspect but more on the mental and emotional aspect. This would include the beginning personality of the character, encountering a conflict in the story, the character making a choice to resolve the conflict and then resolving the conflict and its effects on the character.

Limit Using Clichés

During this time, most people are sick of clichés. Creating stories that are solely based on clichés can end up getting good or bad impression, but overly showing clichés in a story can end up killing the story itself. Be sure to use cliché sparingly and learn tips on how to use them properly in your story.

Don’t be Afraid of Darkness

Oftentimes, most writers are afraid of writing about darker topics such as racism, incest, etc. because these are sensitive topics to begin with. However, these topics are excellent foregrounds to build stories and plots wherein your novel can blossom and characters can develop. Feel free to discuss on these topics and show your opinion as a writer, extending your hand to the readers and showing your beliefs.

Sense of Humor

The best novels have some comical moments that make the readers grin or even laugh out loud without reserve. Even in serious fiction novels, it’s because of these small moments that help grab the reader’s attention and keep the story going smoothly. Provide what you can and share a bit of comedy, even in the serious stories. But be sure not to overdo it or else you’ll be just spelling trouble for your novel.

Adding Drama

What makes a novel story good is how it can grab and manipulate a reader’s emotions and can even make them cry. When the plot demands for it, concoct a situation where it’s relatable or where the reader can sympathize with the characters of your story and become the character themselves. While this may take experience, getting that tug on your readers’ emotions is important and can be the very reason why a novel is considered to be “good” or “great” by the masses.

Writing a novel can take months or even years to finish. With tons of revisions and edits to be made, it’s understandable that a lot of writers have that difficulty of getting out of that slump and making a good story for their novels. Hopefully, these useful tips have given help in constructing a good novel story for you.

Reasons Why PS4 is Better than the Xbox One

It’s always a competition in the gaming industry especially for titans such as the PlayStation and Xbox. Both of these consoles have always been competing in terms of performance, graphics, specs and even the exclusive games.

Whenever updated versions of these consoles are released, gamers and fans are always competing to see which one performs best. For some, they’re both just gaming consoles but for gamers, that’s not always the case since they are always looking for an experience that will take them to the next level.

In this article, we will be talking everything you need to know about the PlayStation 4. This has been around for a while and it’s starting to get a lot of feedbacks from users that it is a much better one compared to its big competitor, the Xbox One.

Let’s take a look at some of the facts as to why a lot of gamers are into the PlayStation 4:

Power
It’s evident that the PlayStation 4 has an advantage in terms of power than the Xbox One which also means that it is better in performance for 3rd party games. Sure the Xbox One may have had a little boost after freeing up its processing power but the PS4 always has a better record in terms of providing superior frame rate and resolution. This could mean better games especially on the race of first person shooters.

Games
The PS4 exclusives so far have experienced a bit of a train wreck with release of the games such as Driveclub and Knack. But that doesn’t mean that Sony won’t keep us disappointed since some big exclusive releases will be in the hands of PS4 soon. These exclusive games include The Order: 1886, LittleBig Planet 3, Bloodborne and Batman: Arkham Knight. Lastly, let’s not forget about the games that Naughty Dog has in store for the PS4 such as Uncharted 4 and the much awaited sequel for The Last Us, if there really is one.

Ecosystem
As a company, Sony is on a bit of a struggle but Kaz Hirai is very clear about making the PlayStation the main pillar of his new strategy. This means that PS4 owners will get full access to the features of Sony’s other key titles such as the PS Vita, PS TV, Morpheus and many more. The company is looking forward to building a multi-device ecosystem that is revolving around the PS4. With that alone, you can easily say that it’s probably the right time to pick up that PS4 now.

Momentum
In the console war, the PS4 is taking an impressive lead so far. Even though not much of the 3rd party titles have surfaced yet, a lot of developers are now seemingly putting their time, focus and effort into a system that has a higher install base. This means that not only will we get better versions of these games; we’ll also get better exclusive games from different kinds of developers. Also, since PS4 is out in the wild, there’s a chance that one of your friends owns one as well. With that in mind, you will surely have a great time playing co-op and multiplayer games.

Now all of that has been said, it’s pretty clear why purchasing the PS4 would seem like a smart choice. Just take note that the era for this next gen console has just started so there’s no reason why you should back out anytime soon.

How to De-Stress?

Work and school can often become too much for us to handle, we get stressed almost every day, it piles up and it burns us out and it starts to affect our health. When you live with stress for a long time, it’s like you are slowly but surely killing yourself because it could cause serious illnesses to us.

Without us knowing it, we are causing harm to our body because we don't know when we have to take time to relax and to take some time off from the pressure and the energy-draining work that we have to do.

Here are some of the ways you can relieve yourself from all the stress work or school or life is causing you.

Admit it, we often get obsessed with our work that wherever we may be, we think about it. While walking in a mall, while having a dinner out and sometimes even when we are sleeping. We have to learn to turn ourselves off from the office or our work because it can cause us to feel stressed.

Even when you are at home or at a vacation, you may feel that sense of obligation that you have to answer calls and emails right away, that should not be the case. We should also know how to distance ourselves from our work. You can allot some time at the evening for all of the emails and the phone calls you have to return and make, thirty minutes will already be enough, when the time is already up, turn off your mobile or laptop and have some time for yourself. Just don’t do it right before you go to bed.

This works the same way that a ritual before bedtime puts you in the right mood and state of mind to sleep, a chill out routine will get you to the mood for relaxing. It can just be the simple things that you do as soon as you get home from work, like changing from your work clothes to a comfortable clothing because it can instantly change your mindset. Then do something to change your pace like a dip in the swimming pool or a nice, a warm bath with scented candles or maybe just by listening to relaxing music while you are having a tea or wine.

Sometimes, we go and plan all of the stuff we are going to do when our free day comes, we try to cram everything we want to do in that two days we have off from work that we sometimes cram when it is already time to go back to reality. You can do all these exciting and fun activities that you want but you should always find time to just sit down and give your body time recharge or even just an hour in one day. Sit down, watch a movie or a tv show or flip through a magazine, chill activities are good too.

Home Is Where The Heart Is: Some home safety tips for you

That’s right. Home is where the heart is. It is also where the food is, where the valuables are and where your favorite reading books are.

Here are some home safety tips for you and your family.

Yes, an ounce of prevention is definitely worth more than a ton of cure. But if ever you’re faced with a food crisis, such as food poisoning, you’ll need to know some safety tips you can do right at your own home. Of course, one of the first steps you might want to do is call for help, too. So make sure you have an updated list of those emergency phone numbers in a conspicuous place at home, such as your fridge, your white board, and other places.

Remember the 4 principles of basic food safety: clean, separate, chill and cook.

Always wash your hands first before touching any food. And for foods that need washing, always make sure you thoroughly rinse them.

Always try to separate foods that are on the go with foods that are yet to be prepared. Always try to be aware of contamination, particularly when your foods are exposed out of their containers or out of the fridge. Also, try using separate cutting boards just to be on the safe side.

Fridge is always the best way to chill food. The second option, of course, would be to use an ice box.

Always cook the food with the orientation that you must not burn away its nutrients.

Put windows with safety locks and with treated colors. This is very useful particularly if you have a low-fenced bungalow type residence.

Put on lights with automatic settings. This will definitely scare off burglars and thieves because studies show that proper lighting does have a preventive effect for such criminal acts and offenders.

Install real and not-so-real alarm systems. A nice working alarm system would be nice, but putting up a “Beware of Dogs” sign may also be as effective (especially since you placed the noun in plural form!).

Organize, organize, organize. Of course, one of the easiest home safety tips is to organize not only your things, but also your time. This means that you’ve taken care of your home as conveniently as possible.

Remember – home is where your heart is.

How to Manage Stress

Sometimes, no matter what we do, stress will have a way to get to us. Stress really is a part of our lives. Even the littlest things can stress us out sometimes. It is also good to feel a bit burn out sometimes; it serves as a reminder that we are doing something with our lives.

What’s not good is when you can’t seem to handle your rising stress levels that it gets out of hand, eventually causing unwanted effects. You have to take action when you feel like you can’t handle the level of weariness in your body and it starts to show physically that it puts your health at risk.

What you need to do is first…

This is the first step of stress management. You may think that work and school are causing your stress but sometimes your own thoughts and feelings can be the cause too. The sources of your stress are not always the ones that are obvious. Keeping a stress journal can help you with this step. Every time you feel burnt out, write down what the cause was and how you felt and what actions you took to make yourself feel all better. Through this, you can see a pattern on what stresses you out so next time; it will be easier for you to point out what’s exhausting you.

The stress journal may also be helpful here. Think about what things you do for you to cope with the stress you are going through at the moment. Are you coping in a healthy or an unhealthy way?

Avoid Stress as Much as You Can

You will find that you can actually avoid some unnecessary stress when you know how to dodge them. Well you can’t avoid all the stressors that you meet along the way but there are certainly some that you can. You just have to learn to say no to some things, know your limitation. Also avoid those people and situation that stresses you out, it is not worth it. If crowded places make you feel uncomfortable, try your best to avoid them. If anything or anyone makes you feel anxious, allow yourself to lessen your contact with them or better yet, avoid them for good.

If ever you can’t do anything to avoid a certain situation or person that makes you feel uncomfortable, then try altering it. You can try expressing what you feel instead of keeping it all to yourself. This can give you a way to release the things that have been bothering you. You should also be ready and willing to compromise with other people who are involved in the situation.
If you already gave it a shot but you just can’t seem to fight the stressor in your life, it’s time to change yourself instead. This way you can be more flexible and adapt to situations that stress you out, then you can have your sense of control back by altering your attitude and expectations to the situation. Learn to accept the fact that sometimes, there are some things you can’t change no matter how hard you try.
